Review and Giveaway: Skin MD Shielding Lotion with SPF 15

I have mentioned several times before on this blog that I have dry skin. It's partly from living in a very dry part of the country; it's "humid" here when said humidity hits around 50%. Coming from the Jersey Shore the hubby and just chuckle a bit and nod our heads. To me humid is oh, July. 100*. 99% humidity. THAT'S humid.

But back to my dry skin - especially my hands - it's also because I wash them quite frequently with caring for the goats and chickens. I am always looking for quality skin care products to help my poor hands. I had tried Skin MD Shielding Lotion before and really like it so when presented with the opportunity to try the formula with an SPF 15 I was a happy woman.

Now I'm sure you are asking, "What is a Shielding Lotion?" Here is a short answer:

A shielding lotion is a new type of lotion that is formulated to duplicate the skin's natural actions to help heal dry, damaged skin. This greasy, artificial moisture can send the wrong message that skin is hydrated and doesn't need to produce it's own natural oils that protect and moisturize. After extended use of a conventional lotion skin can form a dependency causing it to become more dry and damaged if use is stopped. With prolonged use Skin MD Natural helps restore the skin's own natural moisture-production cycle that becomes damaged by the use of other, more conventional lotions.

I have been using it for about a week now and I have happy hands. It has a really light, silky feel and it soaks right in without leaving a greasy feeling. It rather feels like liquid silk on my hands. The SPF is a great addition - not that I have seen much sun this winter but my brain does know the rays are still damaging even without full sunlight. I just wish the sun were out.  OK - no more pouting...
