Thank you for the giveaway!

I like reading her books because they are usually quite light hearted and fun. I also know that Heyer was a stickler for research, becoming the foremost expert on Regency period, and I think she also had one of the largest collection pertaining to that period, so I like that I know that she probably was quite accurate in her books, and yet she did not engage in infodumps in her romances.

I discovered Georgette Heyer through these great re-issues that Sourcebooks has been putting out recently. I read my first of her work last year, and I was hooked! Her style really reminds me of Jane Austen-- so classy. I haven't read any of her "modern" books yet, and I'm looking forward to it.

Thanks for hosting the giveaway!

I am intrigued by her because I was chatting with a fellow book blogger, Christina from A Reader of Fictions, and she commented that she thought Heyer's romance was classy for their covers (looking like an Austen classic). And I ended up curious about Heyer's work.

I think the first romance book I read was by Georgette Heyer. I may have been drawn to it because my mother's middle name was Georgette. I recently found a box of my old books which included several by Georgette Heyer - I pulled them out to read again - maybe that was fate for her Birthday celebration.

I discovered Georgette Heyer through Sarah Rees Brennan, who wrote a short parody of Cotillion. After that, I was hooked!
