Ruminatin' - New Kids

We have two new kids on the farm. They are just short of a week old and are the tiniest kids I have ever seen. I was so surprised when Louise had twins - she wasn't that round. I put her up in the barn around 6 last Thursday night and she wasn't showing any overt signs of labor but I just knew she was close so the hubby and I went up to check on her around 8:30 and we saw a little black and white face staring back at us from a corner of her pen.  I went in to check on it and see if it was a buck or a doe and Louise stood. Good thing she did for she was sitting on a second kid! A little brown and white one.

I love having kids bouncing around. They make me laugh out loud. They test out their legs by running and jumping and they end up going splat. I suppose I shouldn't laugh at their splats but they are just so funny. They are down in the big pen now and the adult goats have accepted them with minimal problems.  Louise has only lost them once; her cries were so pitiful. I ran out and found them for her. They were sleeping peacefully under the chicken house.

Oh, they are both bucks. Bruce (brown) and Clarence (black) named for Bruce Springsteen and Clarence Clemmons - my girlfriend's favorite band. Not that I didn't do some serious singing along to Thunder Road.
*sigh*
Hopefully I will be able to find homes for them because they are so adorable.

So I leave you with this photo.
Do the goat dance of joy without care of who sees.
It's fun!

See if you can get a movie of them going "splat"--I'd love to see that!
