Fall - a time of change.
The heat of summer gives way to a cool breeze.
The deciduous trees drop their leaves.
The animals start growing their heavier coats.
The garden dies off.
Last night it rained. The first rain we have seen in something like 42 days. This is a new record here in our area. It has been exceptionally dry this year which has not been good for the fire season in Montana. In fact we woke up a bit early this morning to a fire call - the hubby had to rush out in the dark with the rest of his firemen to put out a fire in the woods. It was dark outside and in - the power was out. Ugh!
But back to change. I also woke up to the first snow of the season. Not here in the valley but up in the mountains. I looked out the windows, through the clouds and there it was - snow. The biggest indicator of season's change one can see around here. It's gone already as the sun has re-appeared and warmed things up a bit but still, it did snow in the mountains. Earlier than last year. I wonder what that bodes for the winter?
Change is coming indeed to my environment and to the blog!
It's getting a redesign!
And I think it's about time.
