Montana gets cold.
Seriously cold.
So when hubby was designing the yurt he knew he wanted more of a heating systmem than the forced hot air system we had decided upon as the main heat for the house. He had read about pellet stoves and knew they were a popular heating alternative and he wanted to research them further before we made any final decisions. Me? I'd never heard of them but then again as I always say, I'm aesthetics.
Who knew pellet stoves were so popular? Not me! In fact we have a mill quite close by that makes the pellets for pellet stoves. There are several kinds but today I'm showing you Harman Pellet Stoves. I am all for alternative sources of heat, especially ones that are eco-friendly. Did you know that pellet stoves can help you reduce your carbon footprint? Check this out:
You might also find that you can be eligible for a tax credit for the purchase and installation of an applicable pellet stove. Tax credits that had expired were reinstated this year so if you are looking to upgrade your heating system why not look to something friendly to the environment and attractive. I've looked through Harman's stoves and there are some real beauties in their line. Pellet stoves can be free-standing or they can be inserted into existing fireplaces. Very cool, huh? Well, maybe cool is not the best choice of words....
