Photo Challenge, Week 27: Celebrate

July has begun and the summer has descended. It has been in the mid 90ies here the last few days which has been very difficult for poor Pricilla. The temperature went from the high 70ies to the mid 90ies literally overnight which is very challenging for animals.

It's week 27 in the Focus on Life Photo Challenge so we are now into the second half of the year. It is just amazing how quickly time flies.  This week's prompt is Celebrate.  We don't do anything special for the 4th of July; I am going to barbecue tomorrow. We have a grill now and I'm very excited about that.

I am celebrating though - I'm celebrating the strawberry harvest. It's our first year and so far it's been wonderful. The berries have been plentiful and very sweet. We've been eating them for dessert and last night I made a pie so my photo this week celebrates our strawberry harvest.

I hope you all had a lovely 4th of July and that the rest of your weekend is restful.

Be sure to check out the rest of the participants and see how they Celebrate:

  1. I haven't made a strawberry pie in a long time, but I think that's about to change!

  2. 4th of July fireworks got fogged and rained out last night across the Bay... The rain was the start of Hurricane/tropical storm Arthur.. My garden is flattened... will have to see what bounces back. Your strawberry pie looks yummy !

  3. Your strawberry pie is gorgeous. I love that particular style of strawberry pie - almost all unadulterated strawberry, not hidden under an avalanche of topping! The crust looks great too! yum

  4. ohhhh that pie looks scrumptious!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  5. Your pie looks yummy. It would two seconds at my house.

  6. YUM! strawberries are a favorite. As much as I love summer, I don't love the heat when it hits 90 - especially when you add humidity!

  7. Oh, just yummy!! Lovely color of red, too!!

  8. Yum...yum. I love visiting to see your latest goodies.

  9. Oh my gosh those strawberries look mouthwatering! Great photo!
